Hi all,

I have an E34 5-series BMW, and the carpet is worn in a few spots,
typical for a 12 year old car. Apart from BMW, is there anywhere
aftermarket where I can get replacement carpet sets? I remember seeing
a few places advertised in car magazines from a few years ago, but
can't find any of them now.

Thanks for any help

Regards

John

There are a heap of auto trimmers (or even marine trimmers) that will tackle
your project. Id deffinate;y ask to see a few that they have done before
handing out your hard earned.

Ive done a couple of cars of mine and they both turned out fine but only
because they both had centre consoles to hide the twist in the pile up and
over the trans tunnel. Even did a mates 4x4 in marine carpet so that he
could hose it out and remove the drain plugs after some serious off roading.

Hey, carpets cheap, give it a go yourself, you may be surprised at how easy
a reasonable job is and how much you will save.

My 'lux is done in blue marine carpet over the original plastic/rubber
one piece cab mat.

the bed has the same carpet.

Not only looks good by dries _very_ quicky. Can be a bit of a PITA
to vacuum though as small bits of grass/seeds/etc can stick in it.

Your not wrong there, I did my ski boat and the grass and other bits of
vegitation are a difinate PITA! Still better than most alternatives and very
cost effective

Tru-fit Carpets in Melbourne. Choice of colors, pile types, drivers floor
mat (optional), and nicely molded to suit. Used them before and found them
to be exceptional quality and very well priced.

What have you got against motor trimmers?... Make sure to pick a good
one though.

Really?

Could be difficult, seeing that Tru-Fit don't do it. You might find a
source in the US if the floorpan is symmetrical; you might find the
footrest thing's in the wrong spot, depending on the carpet.

May be worth a call to a trimmer, in case they've got any suggestions?
