 | My copy of 'Random Harvest' arrived here in Australia today, just six days after being mailed, using 'standard shipping'. And yes, I'm still waiting patiently for a couple of others (Criterion's 'The Leopard' and the re-release of 'The Last Waltz' but the savings are so great compared to Amazon or even DVDPacific that I don't mind waiting a month or even two. It's bad that they charge your credit card on order -- it should certainly be on despatch. But I think that's a relatively minor complaint. So far I've eventually(!) received everything I've ordered. Back-orders are the only ones I've had to wait for. Every title I order ahead of release-date arrives only a few days at most after North American release. If you're unhappy, just don't use them. Both Amazon and DVDPacific are great too... and I really like the way Amazon handles return of faulty discs. In fact, I'm about to tackle DVDSoon about a fault on my Random Harvest disc -- that'll put them to the test.....

How much do they charge for shipping? What about aussie sites?

 | Re postage -- Until recently, airmail postage from DVDSoon was free. Now it's about $5 a disc. But they have a membership program which costs, from memory, around $65 -- that's in perpetuity, not per year. That should be paid off pretty quickly since membership gives free airmail postage and a 5 per cent discount off purchase price. Re Australian sites, I use ezydvd.com.au, and atlanticdvd.com and dvdorchard.com. I use DVDSoon (and sometimes Amazon and DVDPacific) for the titles you can't buy here in Australia, plus discs with substantial musical content, since NTSC avoids the 4 per cent lift in pitch we suffer due to the PAL film transfer speedup.

 | You got that membership bit wrong - the Fidelity iCard is an annual thing - you have to pay CA$49.98 every 12 months to remain a member. BUT you don't have to make many purchases before you reap the rewards - free shipping, some quite impressive membership discounts, special deals etc

 | DVDSoon is great. All my packages arrived.
Unfortunately, DeepDiscountDVD (and DigitalEyes) are bad. No packages arrived. Waited for months.

I'm still waiting for one from DeepDiscountDVD that I ordered before Christmas, they won't respond to my email.

 | My last package shipped on 20/10 never arrived. On contrast everything I have ordered from Digital Eyes has arrived. I've dumped DVDSoon and gone back to Digital Eyes. I guess different places will work for different people.

 | Actually I have 1 more week to wait for DigitalEyes, but it doesn't look good, as the packages are not supposed to take this long to arrive. Delays are a cause for concern as they can mean that the packages are missing or not delivered.
The whole problem of missing packages seem to have started with having split orders due to a "preorder" item. I have never ordered "preorder" items before, and now it is probably a huge mistake. It would have been better to ship the order as a whole rather than splitting it. Apparently there is an accounting issue with split orders as they still use the same order number in reference.

 | My one and only order from Digital Eyes took around 6 weeks to arrive after their stated shipping date, and their returning of emails was almost as bad as DVDSoon, if that is possible.

If that is the case, I wonder if my delivery is just being incredibly delayed.
The issue is that I cannot wait! I want to receive my DVDs asap.

 | I hope they'll replace my damaged Looney Tunes boxset. Two of the discs keep falling out when I close it because the DVD holders got smashed (either at the warehouse or in transit). It's ashame I can't just get the case replaced as there is nothing wrong with the discs. Being part of a set I'll play regularly I feel an un-damaged case is warranted. It's ashame I can't replace the damaged DVD holders myself - they seem to be glued on.
I faxed the form to them on Wednesday.

 | That's the same that happen with my Matrix Box. The Disks are perfect, but the case was ripped. I asked for a case, but got the whole set again.
