3237 is tentively booked for a charter in August. I assume it will be ready
then. But don't hold your breath.

there was a hint on the RTM site that some icon of NSW would be making a
return late this year.. 1709 would seem likely as AFAIK it was basically
moth balled to conserve it after its outing a few years ago, 3001 could be
a contender - I dont beleive 3642 or 5910 would be likely as they needed
major (boiler) repairs. The other option could be 3265 - I dont know how
much if any progress has been made there....

My money is on 1709. Coupled with 1210, we have a "vintage train".
No chance of the AC State Car, although John Forsyth could doubtless
be resurrected from his retirement home!

Unfortunately, LVR cannot even keep its web page up to date and so no
information is available.

As Johan said, its basically down to the little fiddly bits, at the moment
lubricator pipes, electric lighting, sanders/desanders, brake piping and
cosmetic work.

But I doubt you will see it in Sydney, unless somebody wants to sponsor it.
