 | I use putty to connect SUN Solaris.And I use VI as a file editor. Everytime ,After I exit from VI,It's alway have OM appear at my prompt.
Has anyone experience like this ?

half the users want alternate screen, half don't.

no. But then I don't use "xterm" for putty's terminfo entry.
