"Riders will be launched hydraulically in a horizontal position at 128
mph and then climb the tower straight up. Brakes at the top will slow
riders, "so it gives you time to look around," Aristone said."

The Township of Jackson, just put another $3 tax on parking at Great
Adventure. It probably will be $13

I have always wondered if Jackson really exists. Never on the atlas, and
internet searches never find it.

i know that TTD doesnt do that. but i still have some questions. lol TTD goes
pretty slow over the top.. it doesn't stall, but sometimes it doesn't even make
it over the hill.. i've seen TTD reach 124 mph and not make it over the hill so
how are they going to improve kingda ka to show that it wont happen as often?
*shrug* i guess im just stupid. lol

If anything they will need an excelerator at the top to push the thing over.

Maybe when the train isn't going fast enough the magnetic action of the brakes
will pull the train over. They will also slow the train down if going faster
then the speed set, to give the major hangtime SFGADv is aiming
for.............Is this at all possible?

Yeah, the line will only be 3 hours instead of 4 with three ride ops running
the thing

I think Sam said it right ... launch it hard and slow it down at the top
as needed. Slowing it down also prevents hugh airtime at the top from
launching the riders out of the train. I've always thought that TTD
would benefit from LIMs (I know, a big engineering thing) near the top.
They could be used to boost slower trains over the top or slow down a
too fast train. I think TTD was designed to "float" you over the top.
That's probably why sometimes it doesn't make it. It seems like on
every ride I've had on TTD, it seemed like 0Gs at the top, i.e. floating
over.

The brake is located a few metres after the "top" though. So there will be
much more airtime if you launch if "too fast".

a braake at the top might indicate that they plan to have the ride hit the very
top at a considerably faster speed than TTD did, which would greatly reduse the
rollback factor. the brake would re-establish the correct speed for the drop
off the tower (My uneducated guess)

Haha, I liked that comment they made at the end about the coaster "flipping
the bird" to you know who:) Very cool!

Sorta fits though, no? You pay like $13 for parking, then you turn
your head and see a giant middle finger pointed at you.

That's so awesome!

Or 7.41 Euro. Or, park down the street at the outlet mall and walk 3
miles. Or, drive in the exit off of 537 and wing it into the parking
lot before Smokey the Security Guard can catch you and grab your funds.
Of course Smokey is a Berkowitz- probably with a cousin lawyer.

While it was an uneducated guess Sam was exactly right. At the topping
off the other day I had a chance to be part of a conversation about that
brake w/ the SF engineer. He also said that the only car to have the
corresponding brake parts will be the last one on each train.
Thus the whole train will have crossed the highest point at it's
"natural" speed before the brake checks the speed for the start of the
return plunge.
Higher speed across the top and less chance of rollbacks than TTD.
Sounds like a good thing to me. 8-)

Coastin Steve

ps the public relations ladies at GrAdv had the engineer explain it to
us because she knew we coaster enthusiasts don't like brakes

the brake is on the down side so the train will be going over at the point its
not at the crest almost like the brake on the dive machine u will look around
and straight down
