THE GERMAN PHARMACIST

CODEX = nanny facism

PREFATORY NOTE:

Sometimes I take 10,000 mg of Vit C in a day....

In Germany, they are selling 10 mg tablets - LOL!

If something is not done, the sordid CODEX "nanny fascism" joke is going to
be on us soon...

The following is excerpted from a Feb 2005 Vitality Magazine article LIFE
UNDER CODEX by Helke Ferrie

THE GERMAN PHARMACIST...then handed me a tube-shaped metal container with
vitamin C effervescent
tablets. Each tablet, when dissolved in water would release 10 mg of vitamin
C in a refined sugar solution. The cost: about $10 for 12 tablets. Twelve.

Then he asked me, "What's Co-enzyme Q-10? Are you allowed to buy all this in
Canada in such dangerous dosages?"

When I told him what I take daily, his eyes popped. Then I asked, "Why can't
I buy these supplements here?"

He replied, "Well, Germany is a CODEX country."

END excerpt from a Feb 2005 Vitality Magazine article LIFE UNDER CODEX by
Helke Ferrie

Helke says all 25 European Union countries will be CODEX by August 1, 2005:

Helke says CODEX means:

1) All products must show "maximum safe levels, as established by science."

2) Those nutrients found in the mythic "balanced diet" are to be subtracted
from the final values.

3) Article 6 decrees that labels shall "not attribute to food supplements
the property of preventing, treating or curing a human disease, or refer to
such properties."

Helke warns:

"...if we don't do something about it, this nightmare will soon become
waking reality in the
USA and Canada."

Benito Mussolini reportedly said:
"Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger
of state and corporate power."

CODEX = nanny fascism.

Taking a 10g vitamin c tablet isn't unhealthy, it's just plain and
simply a waste of money (and therefore stupid). Vitamin C is water
soluable. That which isn't used by your body is simply urinated away,
and no matter how "effervescent" a vitamin is, your body isn't going to
absorb that much in one whack, which means you will litterally be
"pissing" your money down the drain..

And if it is a "time release" vitamin ... those are mostly garbage as
well. Vitamins are best when absorbed through the upper intestines,
not the lower. A time release vitamin is WELL into the lower
intestines by the time it is even 25% absorbed by the body.

If you want to obtain the NUMEROUS health benefits to taking high doses
of vitamin C, the best ... really the only way ... is to stagger your
intake.

Lets say a 500mg chewable taken once every two hours, preferably on an
empty stomach. Or if you can get your hands on some inexpensive
granualized sodium ascorbate, taking a full teaspoon every two to three
hours is even better stil. Most chewables utilize binders that your
body doesn't like, further the act of chewing activates acids in the
stomache which breakdown some of the vitamin C before it can be
absorbed (not much though).

I've never seen a 10g vitamin c tablet, but animals use a valuable commodity
(glucose) to manufacture ascorbate only to excrete it in huge quantities
when under stress.
Why hasn't been resolved, but I think nature knows a lot better than man
does.

Yup pulsed dosing is the best (oral) option to increase your overall
absorption and get a pharmacological build up of the vitamin.

If I was taking chewable vitamin c I would ensure that it was buffered -
ascorbic acid tends to make your teeth 'gritty' just like when you drink a
soft drink with phosphoric acid in it.
Could it be that the vitamin is attacking the tooth enamel?
Levin's work suggests higher than 500mg is absorbed, the absorption seems
inversely proportional to the dose.

Danny responded...

If I've understood what Helke Ferrie wrote...

When CODEX comes, he won't be able to get his 500 mg chewable Vit C tablets.

I've edited Danny's response and my reply to him back into my original post
below.

[Danny] Taking a 10g vitamin c tablet isn't unhealthy, it's...stupid...

[Todd] I dissolve crystalline Vit C in water and take it throughout the day.

[Todd] I didn't know they make 10g (10,000 mg) tablets of Vit C!

[Danny] ...If you want to obtain the NUMEROUS health benefits to taking high

[Todd] Whatever the health benefits of vitamin C, the point of my post was
that Helke Ferrie reports that in Germany under CODEX, one gets 10 mg
tablets for just under a dollar apiece, as in,
